Lord Denman Memorial Lecture and RSAA 125th Anniversary Reception
15 July 2026 18.00-20.30 BST at the Society for Chemical Industry
The Society’s annual Lord Denman Memorial Lecture will take place on 15 July at the Society of Chemical Industry, Belgrave Square. We are honoured to welcome the Right Honourable Baroness Warsi PC as our speaker. Her lecture, Muslims Don’t Matter, takes its title from her acclaimed 2024 book and will explore themes of identity, belonging and political discourse in contemporary Britain.
Baroness Warsi was the UK’s first Muslim Cabinet minister, serving as Co-Chair of the Conservative Party and later as Senior Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister of State for Faith and Communities. In 2014, she resigned from government over policy relating to the Israel–Gaza conflict, and in 2024 she left the Conservative Party to sit in the House of Lords as a Crossbench peer.
To mark the Society’s 125th anniversary, the lecture will be followed by a special reception with canapés, wine and music.
Tickets are £25 for the lecture. Reception tickets are also available separately at £25 per head. Please book your place soon as space is limited.
