Description

Memory is not a fixed image, but a space closely connected to the imagination. Exploring mnemonic space invites us to consider the tools best suited to understanding how memory is formed and experienced, from the spatial and temporal qualities of places to the tactile elements that shape our recollections.

In this talk, researcher and filmmaker Anisa Sabiri and artist and architect Oyat Shukurov will discuss their ongoing collaborative practice across moving image and architecture. Drawing on the urban memory of Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, they will share the research behind their work and explore how film and architecture can reveal the ways memory is embedded in cities.
