China’s Agenda in the Himalayas: Geopolitics and Culture

China is known for using history to justify its territorial claims and expansion. This interest is not limited to geography alone but includes culture and religion as well. Beijing’s pursuit of its strategic interests in the Himalayan region encapsulates the interplay of these dynamics, as much of this approach is designed to further China’s hold over Tibet and its interference in Nepal and northern India.
