Lecture: ‘My House in Damascus: Contemporary Syrian Society from the Inside’
The speaker will concentrate on the period from 2005, when she bought her Damascus house, to the present day. Through the house, her links with Syria are deep and on-going, and she remains in daily contact with Syrian friends inside the country. Based on this first-hand experience, she will share with us some of her insights into the realities of how Syrian society works on the ground
